I wanted to capture an image that reminded me of days growing up on the other side of the world being fascinated by the country called Australia. The Internet has made it so easy to visit places without leaving your house but you used to have to settle for looking at photos in books, and besides the iconic images of the Harbour Bridge and koalas, I was always in awe of the wide open spaces and the golden glow of the land. The kangaroos had just moved out of the frame but the typical windmill and rich warm tones of the sunset provided me with exactly the setting I was looking for and one that shows rural Australia at its best.
