Having been denied the opportunity to get out and photograph the Autumn colours of 2020 due to the Covid 19 lockdowns, I made sure I took every opportunity I could to try and capture the 2021 offerings.  Knowing there is usually only a window of around 3-4 weeks where the trees are in full glory before the seasonal storm roll through and blow the leaves away, I scouted many locations looking for interesting compostions in the nearby ranges, that are famed for the palette they provide at that time of year.  
One such location was a private residence that opens up its gardens to the public, so after driving past and seeing the colours in full glory, I decided to head back as soon as I was able.  I was instantly drawn to this Japanese Maple by the way the branches spread across the scene in an almost symmetrical way and how their golden colour tone also contrasts beautifully against the deep red of the foliage behind.
